  • Failure to my self-built IDX Pro.

Hello everyone, I have an IDX Pro purchased from Silverdog printed green, the circuit works perfectly only in all metal, but in discrimination does not work, only if the potentiometer is turned all the way up then detects the non-discriminated rating to 50% of its potential. Please from where I can start looking to solve the problem, according to you because it behaves in this way. Thanks for your answers..

Hey. 1. remove the discreet. 2. The ground regulator must cut the ferrite in the middle position. If this does not occur, select a capacitor in the receiving and transmitting circuit.

sounds like the wrong wire is connected to the centre of the POT

Thanks for your reply, My IDX sometimes works perfectly, and sometimes it has this problem, I'm not understanding anything anymore. Perhaps a fixed capacitor that changes capacitance at will?

          Check the plug.

intermittent changes things. Must be wired correctly.

have you a factory coil to test with ?

I have a white original concentric coil BLUE MAX 9.5, and some self-built DD, the problem does it with all of them.

My guess would be either a faulty solder joint or one of the
                LM393's (U8, U4).

A faulty from new LM393 has happen at least once in the past. From memory that one wouldn't reject foil even at 100% discrimination
