I think Dilek's comment was meant to be more general: "Once we release the product, consumers will decide if it is worthy." That is true of any consumer product.

If you don't like the way things are, then change it. Create a detector review web site and start writing test reports. Although sitting on a forum and complaining, and expecting someone else to do the work you're asking for, is certainly the American Way.

No, I think Dilek was expressing how they really operate. People, for the most part can not check out a detector before purchasing. You will also most likely have to pay for return shipping on an item if you " don't like it" It sounds like this is something you don't want to talk about. Maybe because you have a technical forum and do not show the technical advantages,if any, of the most recent detectors,in comparison to others. You bow out by suggesting someone else do it.

You don't find it interesting discussing how these detector companies operate ? I would not be the one to give an opinion on the technical aspects of a machine. I would probably find more items while some others are playing with their machines trying out all the different settings. I think most machines are made to give the consumer something to play with, such as this Invenio, but do not make one more successful. A lot of people are more into detectors than they are into detecting.

Folks are free to discuss this here if they want, but you're the guy complaining about the issue, not me. I have no interest in it.

If all that bothers you so much, why not actually do something besides complaining? And, no, I don't find it interesting how detector companies operate, since they operate no differently than most other companies.

If the companies that supply detectors are promoting them by gimmicks and BS rather than by any real technical advantage, that has a lot to do with detecting. If a person would dwell on that as much as some dwell on the operation of detectors they would be not be very productive either. I hope that answers your question.

My second quote there was in response to Skippy. I'm just discussing the issue and anyone discussing an issue could be accused of " complaining " If you have no interest in any advantage recent detectors may or may not have in comparison to previous ones, you should not be advertising your forum as " Technology for Treasure Hunting " I'm not complaining nor am I surprised. These forums usually are not what they advertise as. If you have no interest in it,stay off the thread.

The detector manufacturers want to make a lot of money, which comes first.
Technically, the last few years have done little.
Users believe everything they are told, they usually have no idea about the technology
And often the developers of the devices are not treasure hunters

Good points. It is not only the manufacturers that want to make money by limiting what the consumer is told. Some forums work very hard to protect those manufacturers, and may have to,to stay in business. It would be nice to see an independent source showing what new detectors are made of and how they compare to existing ones.

It was good that I have totally ignored this forum for over a half year ...
And today I just wanted to download my own vibration-circuit. *laugh*

Guys, what is your problem, do you just need some topic for smalltalk?

Don't you see that it is obviously that new MDs always can contain improvements
and fresh search-motivation? Why do you refuse reality and don't wanna get it?!

Stick to your 10 years old MDs if you don't see or need that and leave those
who are excited about new inventions in peace!

And Carl, don't be so "arrogant" and judge about detectors which provided
state of the art and top notch (newest!) technology, inventions and
possibiliities. Do I have the JeoHunter and DeepHunter with 1m / 3ft coil
or you, do you have tested it personally a 100 hours?

If I would be bad I'd say other MD producers not even cared about such
at that times great features when all what existed was a "shaky" 1m / 3ft
inbetween walk PI coil. How ridiculous - technically seen!

You need no vibration? You need no asian girls who love some vibes? ;-)
Then leave it be! Nevertheless Makro had it first! *laugh*

Do you think that I care what is your personal MD favor?!
Do you think this would have anything to do with technology or hitec?

This super-duper informed forum with the name geotech not even
has any thread about the new 2in1 radar MD from "geotech" Russia.
No, you don't get the link - search yourself and have a success feeling! ;-)

Look - my technically interested friends - I don't wanna cause you any
trouble but just show you that the point of interest is your personal
preferred subjective look of things which is far away from objectivity.

If you are not interested to hunt with a 1 meter! IB coil which is far
better than any "cheap" (sorry but those pipe coils ARE cheap) IB-coil,
then it is your personal problem and no technical one.
(with 45cm coils its exactly the same) ...

And if you think that some ACE250 is the best MD in the whole world
it is also your personal problem - and I would say a real BIG one
because you will never find stuff beyone 50cm. I'm so sorry for you.

Per instance the new Amfibio from Makro Nokta is very sturdy and
you can dive with it under water !!!
You don't need it? Good for you - others are happy about these inventions
and technical improvements! They are not such "sturdy" stupid ignorant!

You don't need a handheld 70cm 2ft. coil? Good for you!!!!
                                But I want one! *laugh*

You need a pinpointer? Good for you! Perhaps you will
try one with 10cm 4'' coil which is waterproof! No? Oh, too bad! *laugh*

Do you wanna play with LEGO or with Playmobil??? Good for you! *laugh*

The main question for a forum like this is:

Are you really willing to go for improvements and do you wanna help
other technical and treasure-hunting interested people to get THE BEST
or do you wanna provide here just your own tunnel-views and tastes ?!!!

If yes you might be better off with some stamps-collectors-circle because
you will be for sure no help to people who need great inspirations,
informations and new options bringing improvements!!

I'm for sure no one who needs each and every year 5 of the
newest produced MDs but I have respect for the improvements
and if you are at least a little bit a technical interested person,
                                you should have it, too!

Or do we must discuss first what means "Technology" at all??? *laugh*

It for 100% does not mean "my personal taste" or: "my beloved tunnel-view"! *laugh*

And the whole world should be happy that some master-mind-tinkerers
from Istanbul and other places are working the whole winter-time hard
so they can present us their newest hunt-motivating specialist-TOOLS!

Yes, modern tools, or are your American weapons still 300 years old? *laugh*

And motivation sometimes is more worth than anything else.
Not to forget creativity and productivity which are human needs itself!
And btw. this new imaging system is ingenious and not even GPRs have it.
GPRs which really would need it with their "wave-salads" on screen! *laugh*

But perhaps you are just jealous and you throw out your money every
month for worthless crap so you can't afford to buy something really
good from Makro and Nokta (the 2 brothers are re-united meanwhile).

I don't hope this is the main reason that you are not able being objective
                                concerning technical improvements.
Or you are some spaced "68er" and the LSD still does its job! *laugh*

OK guys - don't take it personal what I have written but see it as some
kind of self-reflection or -recognition - which never is wrong. *laugh*
