What you can see on video is only RX device. I wanted to show only directional behavior of ferrite antennas.
The same device can locate the same pipe at 3 meters distance. My cellar was small for such demonstration and i wanted to point out different aspect than distance.
If you use similar ferrite rod antenna setup and attach it on posted TX output stage; range will be in miles, not in meters. Tough to predict exact range, but be sure it will be total overkill.
For only 200m range; TX output is redundant.
I would attach such antenna directly on adjustable oscillator.
    Serial resonance... of course!

Did you disable the Tx in the Cscope? I think Eric Foster did something like that with a pi using a large tx loop laid out on the ground.

There is no TX in Csope 33XD.
        It is only receiver.

          Dear IVCONIC,

Thanks for replies , i am not that person who has knowledge to build electronic kits , so please if you know some who can build it / test it , and how much the price , i will be ready to pay him ,

thanks again for all the shared informations

Besides; for range of 200m is quite irrelevant if antenna is "directional" or not.
Directional TX antennas are used mostly in very long range communications and data transfer.
You don't need directional antenna, any tuned coil will do the job.
But if you insist on "directional" antenna; than it is doable. Again with coil loop.
Just put long ferrite rod in previously wounded coil and there you have quite directional behavior.
Longer the ferrite rod - more "directional" it is.
As for the TX stage; the transmitter: you don't need high power design at all.
Any adjustable oscillator will do. Since you don't need any soil penetration. No need for especial output stage.
Just Copy&Paste any of similar designs of common metal detector TX circuit.
As far as i recall; Emfad UG12/24 is working in 56-156kHz range.

believe me it is work , i owned this devise , but to get the best performance the radio signal should be available at the scanned location

                        Tough.
That technology is good only for CAT locating.
Long water pipes, various utilities and appliances can act as sort of antenna and usually induces certain amount of strain signals.
With dedicated receiver you can locate only such "targets".
                        Small items... tough.
Yet... some experiments on that field are still in progress...

12 years later i can say that UG12/24 can be defined as valid device with pretty invalid public image.
                            Was it done intentionally?
                            Probably yes.
                            The price justifies that.
With the 1/20 of the price you can get more modern and better device... doing the same job.
What really annoys me is not the UG device itself, but software that comes along.
It is done too ambitiously... as far as i am concerned.
