I've seen some videos of modded GPX 4500 machines out-performing GPZ and others (assuming the videos are honest, which I believe they are), I contacted detectormods.com who did these modifications, but no reply, also, they want about $2200 just for the mods. Does anyone here know how to mod these machines to go deeper?

Simplest thing to do is buy a 14" round Coiltek mono Elite coil. I have done tests in the Nevada desert alkali soil with my gpx4500 and 15x12 minelab coil versus the Elite 14" round, and with a 1.3 gram nugget buried 13", I got 2" better depth out of the Elite coil over the stock coil. Its same with my Evolution 14x9 mono coil, it goes deep for its size, i recovered a .55 grammer at a solid 8" and the nugget was porous. These new flat wire coils are great.
One other thing you can do is add a audio enhancer like the SP01 from Australia, has eq settings, volume control, with three filters, much better than a standard minelab battery amplifier. I haven't used a standard coil since these flat wire wound coils have come out, I do carry a 11" dd minelab coil along for wet ground, or if I want to use the discriminator on the gpx.
