Yep, this much I know. In first video on thread, it appears the GROUND BALANCE pot is being adjusted(Golden Mask).

In this particular case, the video shows a Gold Master being ground balanced against soil, and consequently it is unable to ignore the hot rock. With the TDI, although it is also ground balanced against soil, note that he never shows the reaction of the detector to the hot rock on its own, only the gold sample and the gold + hot rock together.

Riss, I agree with the consensus, that this thread is a mess. I also thought, in the first post, you were asking about someone else's video. And I'm still not sure what you asking.

On the magnetite rock, that can easily be accomplished with a PI design. With some effort, a VLF can do it, too. That particular demo doesn't require a hybrid. And there are multiple ways to design a hybrid, so if you are wanting us to guess how you designed this detector, I doubt anyone is going to try. I'm not.

If there is anything additional you want to share, share away. If there are answerable questions you want to ask, ask away. But please be clear on what you are saying so we don't have to guess.

Also, the "Guru" label is just part of the forum software. It is based on the number of posts people make, not their ego, and they have no control over it.

Of this particular mineralized soil , which most admirably attaches to the magnet this detector worked steadily , set to maximum sensitivity . If you pay me , I will go to Bourgas city , Black sea, Bulgaria . There are beaches of pure magnetite . There, on these beaches I will shoot a video . But, how much of soil mineralization should we provide to make usable distinction from air tests?

Here answer with help of FisherLab relative soil mineralization distribution table using some of mentioned
brand models. Testing soil Fe3O4 reading should be over red line in regarded model.



Is GPZ7000 promising comparison? This model is known of having trouble with ground balancing over
gold producing soil. Manufacturer started to provide yellow Ferrite ring to users, with intention to help
with ground balancing over uneven hot soil mineralization. Strange things for 10.000€ worth detecting piece.

And, if we talk about problematic hot rocks, most difficult to maintain in MD, is not magnetite, but maghemite,
mostly produced by Ferro-soil burned in past through many (forest) wild fires. Info in short:"Maghemite is a
naturally occurring iron mineral with the same iron to oxygen ratio as hematite, but it is crystallized into
a different crystal pattern. ... Its magnetic signature lasts longer, so it tends to give pulse induction detectors
more problems than any other natural, non-metallic iron mineral."
