  • Analog VDI meter update question

I am thinking of experimenting with 6000di log amp circuits for VDI on TGSL. I wanted to know how would I drive the meter update gate, and from which part of TGSL circuit. Any ideas? I can dispense with the depth reading part of circuit, making it a lot simpler, but not sure how drive the meter update gate.

    VDI 5900

Hi. Here is an analog VDI that works very well. I did it a few years ago. I was inspired by the original VDI of the Whites 5900, and cut parts of some components.

Hello. Interesting scheme. Did you have a printed circuit board?

          VDI 5900 LAY.

Hi. I have this .lay file.
It is taken from the original scheme of the 5900.
As noted, it has more components than the previously published scheme, because it is the original.
The scheme I published in the previous post, is a simplified version, because I realized that the original version had many more components.
The two versions work well, the only thing that the original, is more difficult to calibrate.

Thank. Eduardo. Didn't you think how to put two LEDs instead of an analog indicator, on ferrous and ferrous metals?

Did you collect this indicator? How does it work? Is there a video? Where to connect the contact SENS?

I do not have any video
I did this project a few years ago and it works perfectly. I had it connected to the IDX-PRO detector.
The "SENS" connector is connected to the IDX-PRO detector sensitivity potentiometer cursor.

Good evening! I assembled the VDI 3 LED prefix, connected the Golden Mask-4 to the metal detector, (even if the ALL and DISK channels are not connected to the MD circuit) the BOV LED is constantly on, the other two LEDs do not react to anything, the SMD transistor, the other There are no changes in the circuit. What could be the reason? What voltage should be applied to the circuit

You have to connect the virtual ground. You need to add a resistive divider formed by two 10K resistors. It must be connected in parallel with C8 and C9. I used the virtual ground of the IDX-PRO.

Good evening! I connected + 5V and -5V, virtual "0", the result is the same, 1 LED LOV is on. Removed CD4070, when you touch this chip with a finger, the LEDs turn on and off in different sequences. What does not work? Irritating to the fact that the circuit is small 3 parts, but not rnabotaet. Maybe there is somewhere an error in the scheme, well, for example, "-" running in virtual "0" or vice versa ???

                          VDI

The scheme has no errors. You can post here some photos of your work?

You have to check your PCB well, because it surely has some error.
The scheme is correct, because it worked for me correctly.
