    Hi chaps,?
I'm just looking to build a good detector, but not wanting to start making PCB's, found the Silverdog site, but do not know what's best to build,
TGSL, IDXPro, Baracuda or Minipulse?? (I'm a retired electronics eng. with test equipment)

    THANKS!

no best. best will be if you luckely will did one from the list. do MPP because it has good instruction how-to-do and George
are ready to help in a trouble. begin from simplest and run to difficult. after 3-4 soldered kit you will get your first knowledge.

As an electronics project for fun. Or to use

If its to use you have to decide what and where you will be detecting.

Here in the UK for fields. It has to be a VLF. Dry sand also. PI for wet sand way down the beach away from most of the junk.

              thanks Koala,
I did not realise that I needed different machines for each soil type!
But yes, its to use not just a build project

thats why i suggest you to do 3-4 kits and just after you will get your first experience. soil is not main issue.
