  • Hameg Analog Oscilloscope

Well, finallygot to borrow an oscilloscope to check my Equinox 800.
Did the startup suggestions and this what the Multi-frequency scope lookslike. Nothing like what I expected. Tried 2 different kinds of inputcoils but got the same wave each time.
I'm guessing this is the best the scope can do.

Those waves don't resemble any multi frequency waveform. They all look to be just about the same freq. Just a slight variation in phases. That's strange, unless I am reading it wrong.

I agree, I was expecting something similar at what Carl has posted. Must be something radically wrong.

Try messing with the Trigger a bit. See if they separate.

What is the time per division on the photo?

I've adjusted the trigger and time division and this was the best shot I could get. Now I'm wondering if the scope needs to be calibrated.

The scope shot only shows one and a half cycles of sinus waves. Need to show more cycles in order to get better resolution of the waveform. What is the specs on the scope? What type of circuit is used to interface with the scope?( Between pickup coil and scope)

I had to return the scope on Monday. I'll see if I can borrow it again. Maybe this time I'll try a different type of receiving coil. I'm just extremely interested and can't quit messing around until I have a better understanding.

                  Maybe digital storage scope required.

I'm trying to make some TX Equinox measurements tomorrow at Rigol DS 1054z ..

Better then NO SCOPE ? I have one that works well for a pile of things. https://www.banggood.com/Original-JY...r_warehouse=CN

Probably the cable braid does not contact with pinch of the probe of the oscilloscope. Please test with the multimeter circuit ! Test coil-about 8 inches in diameter , about 35-40 turns . It is shunts with a 330-560 ohm resistor -this resistor is connected in parallel of the coil terminals ! There may be another defect probe on the oscilloscope .No tamper ! You better grasp the shovel , and the detector...

Does the scope have a 'calibration' output?
If so then connect probe there to test.

MarkG .. your problem is at the horizontal osciloscop setting X-Time.. ,. I made some Equinox 800 scans on my osciloscope:
