  • Finished...! (well nearly)

Finally got the TGSL working nicely in the workshop, the Minipulse is finished, that was MUCH easier
The TGSL incorporates the two tone mod and the VDI, the VDI needs a bit of a tickle yet..... and the coil to encapsulate.
I suppose that I made life a bit more difficult by making two at the same time, as well as being new to detectors.
Construction used model Heli light alloy tailbooms and plumbing 'T's , with sliding carbon fibre lower tubes....and plastic gutter joints for the armrests.

Many thanks for all your help chaps, just need to make use of them now.

These look great! Everything look very professional. I've been building the tgsl and minipulse as well, however I keep breaking my tgsl builds.

I was going to add the VDI to my tgsl using the same VDI and I was wondering what pins on the TGSL did you use for the VDI?

Also what type of depth are you getting with both of them?

Thanks! I used the small 'add-on' board from Daren, getting the signals from pin 6 U104 and pin 6 U105....I've been away so not tested on site yet.

I just finished building my TGSL and I'm using the same add-on board from Daren, I need to test mine some more as I'm not sure if the readings the display shows are accurate.

I'm using v13 of Darens VDI, my bar graph isn't smooth like I've seen on others, when testing with a coin I seem to have a lot of spikes on different parts of the graph.

I just realized that you might not be using the same vdi I'm using.

What VDI program are you using?

I think it's V6 of the program, I have not played around yet but would hope to add the target 'labels' instead of values.....soon.

                Samsearcher,

Did you try the other versions of Darens VDI?

I made some adjustments within the built in menu system of the VDI of v13 and I seem to be getting better results then I originally was getting. The bar graph still doesn't seem to work right but the vdi numbers seemed to help with what I was detecting.

I still need to do some more testing to see if its working correctly.
