First of all, a belated Happy New Year to all the tech-heads out there, and thanks for all the interesting discussions!
Been real busy over the holidays, one chore was to CLEAN my study. This involved buying another filing cabinet and bookshelves, and getting the heaping piles of papers and books off the floor. In doing so, I ran across a few old correspondences that I may or may not have replied to. I'm also moving to a new PC, and discovered in the 300 or so emails in my Inbox, a few that may have gone unanswered. I try to reply to everyone, so I apologize to those I may have missed. Please remember that this is a hobby for me, not a business, and if I don't reply within a few days, bug me some more!
As usual, I got far less done last year than planned. This year will likely be the same, but I do have 3 goals:
- Get the PI design completely finished & published. (EPE??)
- Build a vacuum former, much like Charles'.
- Learn PICs, and use them.
Beyond that, I hope to continue with more advanced PI designs, get into some IB designs including a vectored conductivity meter, and learn LabView. And, restore my 68 Mustang! Then, for February.....
So, I did FINALLY get the new PI-1 (Hammerhead) PCB finished. I removed some of the confusing options, mostly around the preamp, which left empty space. Instead of shrinking the board, which was not working out too well, I simply placed a bunch of solder pads, so that extra devices can easily be added.
Please look over the layout, reply with concerns/suggestions. I will send out for a batch of boards in a week or two, for this and the SMT version.
