what is "retune"

I would have a curiosity; in some circuits, especially Tesoro there is the command "retune" I would like to know what it is for.

In tesoro units of old, it is used to return the device to the desired threshold.

Good idea to read some of the older tesoro user manuals, where it is explained the use of the retune toggle as it relates to the various mode settings. A look at the schematics of these units reveal just what is happening to the circuit when the retune switch is closed.
