MC RICOMAX/GC-1037 metal detector

Well they seem to have sorted out the issues with the MD-3010ii. The MC RICOMAX seems to be performing well, the target response is instantaneous and repeatable, unlike the MD-3010 where the response is very slow. I noticed that the coil is different on the RICOMAX,, so maybe it was an issue with an inferior coil on the MD-3010ii. There is a video showing clearly that the signals are faster and repeatable.

The features are exactly the same except the display is a little more modern design. The discrimination and target ID seem to work good too.

Actually, the equivelant to the MC RICOMAX looks to be the Treker GC-1037/ GC-1028. But the Ricomax has a different coil. Although the GC-1028 and Ricomax are the same control box, they have differnt coils, so I think the coil makes all the difference as the GC-1028 is rubbish. The coil isn't shielded either.

The only very cheap chinese detector that's good is the MD-6250 which is the Garrett ace 250 clone. It's performance is exactly the same as the garrett, it's an exact copy. But it's not that much cheaper so in the end the garrett is much better quality, because the coil on the garrett is sealed.

All the rest are rubbish really.
