I was given a White's Amphibian Underwater metal detector recently but some of the wires are broke off of the circuit board. Can't find a patent number off of the parts that I do have so I can't look for schematics at the patent office. Anybody have a clue as to where I can find a schematic or a patent number for this thing? There is a 505 0100 on the circuit board. That is all I have to work with.

There were at least a few different "Amphibians" made... is yours a BFO or TR? Probably all the Amphibians had very basic circuit designs, so it shouldn't be hard to figure out. White's would probably give you a schematic for something that old.
BTW, if you want to get rid of it, I collect vintage detectors, and am looking for an Amphibian. I have two clear plexiglass loops, that were designed to plug into Goldmaster boxes up on the boat. They predated the self-contained Amphibian, the first of which I think was a Goldmaster Amphibian BFO.

I really don't know what it is I have in the way of BFO or TR, not even sure what a TR is or how I would even tell the difference. All I know at this point is that the circuit board has 5 transistors, a red, black, green, white and what is probably a ground wire coming out of the head. the red and black are not connected to the motherboard. The other set of wires (which I assume go up to the headphones have the same wire coloring but the white is the only wire still connected.Comment
