  • Slice Scanner !!!

No, this is not my old idea but a brand new one!

The thing is that we need to concentrate the radiation energy
at a very small line instead of a huge "field" and "ground-pit"
so a really good depth can be reached with usual power-input.

Which means that we need to find a possibility to scan the
ground in a style of "small slices" which alert the detector
if the slice contains some interesting EM-field-anomalies.

Compare it with a GPR which provides a broad and deep
but very narrow search-radius by directional HF-antenna.

I know most here in this forum just wanna know which
resistor has to be replaced if their PI no longer functions
and they are far far away from any technical creativity,
but if we wanna go deeper, we need methods with more
directional antennas and more concentrated EM-energy.

Spreading the whole energy all over the floor to find a
little eddy-current spot in the center works but is not
very efficent or into useful depths leading.

More I don't have to say for the moment.
Enjoy this inspiration and make something out
of it, if you are capable and interested to do it.

Yes, and this exists already for medical diagnostics, called MRT or MRI:

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomography

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnet...onance_imaging

Thin slices which show exacly "whats inside".

However the technology for receiving a useful feedback from the ground will be
a little be different, but thin slices whould be OK and we don't need even any
"images", its enough if we get enough depth and useful detection signals.

the ferrite antenna emits very narrow radiation.but I couldn't get a backward signal.

I quite agree and initially looked into this in the 1970's. Even earlier, long rectangular coils were used to find persons buried in avalanches. You searched one way broadside and on reception of a signal, cross searched at right angles. There is an advantage in rectangular coils where the ratio of sides is greater than 3:1, in that the magnetic field extends further. This is a basic method and later developed into a long TX and multiple separate RX coils within it. The detector electronics scanned each RX coil in sequence and one in a corresponding row of LEDs lit up to show which sector the target was in. Today, this technique is used in industrial and security PI's, so slice scanning is nothing new, except that it hasn't appeared in treasure hunting use, except in a few special cases.

          Eric.

where????? oldest idea that is used much much years. open your HD. look on head WRITE-READ, look
on every head of cassette taper. THEY ALL USE THIS PRINCIPLE. often FF's EURICA! crying does not sure mean nothing.

Did I mention in any word any "already well known" slice method? NO!

                        --- Insults removed ---

Slice scanning means highly improved GPR and nothing else,
and its just a question of time until we will have it!

Perhaps the military has it already NOW, if we take a look at those
meanwhile no longer top secret microwave through wall-scanners!

What advantages would the military have in war-times if it would
have such a slice-scanner? Well, it could find much better and
more reliable land-mines and similar stuff, scan bunker-walls,
fast check concealed items and bags etc (like airport-scanners),
checking if people are wearing prohibited objects on their body,
finding weak points inside of walls or tunnels below structures,
discovering deep buried enemy-depots and much more.

Anyway - penetrating just a small slice of the ground will use
much less energy and also can create much more clear signals
while most of you here will have problems if the search-area is
full of iron crap which covers the deeper good signals.
