I've had to cut my search head cable and re-do the connection several times and the connector is worn out and the cable is really short. It belongs to a Whites' Coinmaster 5 DBH (hipmount). Questions; can I repatch the cable, adding an extra foot or two and not affect the signal too bad? If I carefully re-do the shielding and connect to the board with care to add a stress-relieving grommet/knot joint, will this mess it up too bad?? It's an old detector with good sensitivity and I don't want to put any more money into it but want my Grandson to play with it. Whatcha think????
