I see from your signature over on MD4U that you have built more machines than probably anyone else
Tesoro Cibola. TGSL. Tesoro lobo mod. Toddler FM. Verator Clone AVR. Chance. Fisher 1266s. Tesoro ELDORADO. Terminator 3. Minelab Musketer. White's IDX PRO. Quasar. Thunderstorm 6 (Super). Golden Mask 4 (exceeded all expectations) .Verator 5-4.
I was wondering how you rated them
personally I have
F1265X
F1260X
Bandido SMD
IDX (silverdog original with zener diode)
I have listed them in order of preference.
I would have but the F1260X above the F1265 if it had a pinpoint mode. It has a nice quirk in discrimination. Where you can listen to the sound of iffy targets with both a normal swing and a very fast swing. If they sound the same it is always a good target.
IDX works well on very clean ground. But you have to run so little discrimination that half of what you dig is iron.
I was disappointed with the Bandido ii umax. Although it does find more than the IDX. I found when ground balancing on some field that the some very thin targets were already being discriminated out as it already starts at the foil range. Might have been an error in my coil?
I would be particularly interested in your thoughts on the Quasar as I have a board I have never built.
