well the machine switches on. it makes some odd noises now and then. the needle moves to the center when first switched on then moves back to the left. also the needle moves when you put a object next to the coil, but other than that loose wire that was in side. i haven't got a scooby doo what is wrong with it.

is it hard to get a hold of spare parts for the compass detectors? i actually have four that need some attention. 2X Coin PRO II, Gold Scanner PRO, Scanner XP-PRO

That sounds like you bought the "spares or repairs" compass detectors that were on ebay recently.
I was watching those, but they went for a lot more than I expected.

yes that's them. i bought them on a whim. i got carried away hitting the bid button at the very end. the gold scanner pro works sometimes and sometimes not. it looks like it has had a auto/manual toggle switch fitted. i don't know how the switch is meant to work but in the auto position it does nothing apart from cut the detection out.

I nearly always place my bids using Auction Sniper, then I can't get carried away with the bidding and end up spending too much.

This is all I have on the Compass Coin Scanner Pro, if it's any use to you.
Plus I've included the Compass XP-350 schematic in case it's like one of the other control units.

thanks for the files qiaozhi it is much appreciated.
the gold scanner pro stays on now. i was testing with rechargeable 9v batteries. one is new but the other two are a bit old now and not as strong. i give the a good over night charge and they work a bit better now. so that machine stays on now. it is very quiet using the headphones and using the speaker only no sound. so i need to retest the other three again now knowing that the batteries are better now.

well i have tested the four machines now.
the gold scanner pro it is working. all the functions seem to be working, but the sound is very, very quiet using the head phones. plus the same from using the speaker only.
the Scanner XP-PRO seems to be working ok.
the 2X Coin PRO II one of them. when switched on it just sounds like a FM Radio Tuning. the other one when switched on just makes a constant humming sound.
