  • Old restyled detector

    Hello guys,

From your experience over the years which old analog vlf detector you would like to see it restyled (smd, wireless, lightweight) and why?
What features are the most important for you?

    Thanks

I would like to see a redesign of my favourite detector the Fisher CZ21. It works extremely well for what I use it for which is salt water detecting and it handles black sand relatively well but it weighs a lot and there is no option for wireless headphones as they are hard wired.

    Cheers

I've frequently seen people ( mainly US guys ) wanting the Fisher CZ-3 / 3D / 5 updated, also their old 72 kHz Goldbug 2. The Equinox has quietened down the demand for the 5/15kHz CZ's somewhat. The Goldbug2 evidently still has something unique, despite some competition from machines like the NokMak Gold Kruzer / Racer Gold.
A lot of the 'wish list' items are not machines, but additional coils, there's no shortage of shapes and sized wanted, particularly for machines with a very limited choice. Even the Equinox suffers from this - as soon as the Vanquish line appeared, everyone wondered if ML would make Eqx-compatible versions of its coils.

The CZ's would benefit from a complete redesign; different frequencies, processing, interface, etc. Then it wouldn't be a CZ any more.
For the Goldbug 2, auto ground tracking and a slimmer case and modern interface would be nice.
The pinnacle of analog detectors was the White's XL Pro, the last of the famed 6000 lineage. It could benefit from tone ID and a faster recovery speed, and certainly a shrunk/lighter package.
Or, take the Shadow X5 and add auto ground tracking and tone ID.
        And all with wireless headphones.

Aquasound with autobalance for setting up the search coil.
Mine lab goldseeker 5000. Hard to find those.
          Whites coinmaster 5000/6000D series 2.
Fisher 1220x/1260x, just because it was the pinnacle of transconductance amplifier design in metal detector circuits.
