quasar arm ferrite Calibration and firmware update questions

I have a quasar arm pre assembled control module and coil. the coil is a quasar arm coil from the ukrane bought separate from the box. I have to set the ferrite angle and I'm wondering where to source it or if it has to be a certain type. can I use a ferrite core? I'm not sure if those are pure ferrite or not.
question 2. Where do I find firmware updates? I'm aware that I need a some kind of programmer to update the firmware still researching on that. Russian isn't something I speak and most google hits I can't read. I been using google translate to help. I did find a bunch of English pdf's on this site that I'm reading through now. thanks for iny info anyone can contribute

Thank you so much. Awesome reply. The pics of the box is identical to mine. Right now I'm on firmware version 2.3.4 can't wait to start hunting several colonial cellars here in Maine and post my finds.
