The height of the RX Gain setting in the 3F multifrequency will depend on the mineralization of the terrain.


1-2 bar Fe3O4- low mineralization setting RxGain up to 10-14..OK
4-Bar Fe3O4-medium strong mineralization setting RxGain to 7-8.OK
7 bar Fe3O4 - extremely strong Mineralization- Gain adjustment up to 3-5 OK ..

I use the sensitivity of DS for a good depth of 85-93 ...

Ground filters 7.5hz and 10hz Band /High ...will be the most versatile ....

for ..Deep........ recovery delay is ideal for me at 60-75 .. independent of the type of coil used ...

If you want to greatly improve the separation, put the bottle cap on OFF.

are these settings for say like a park or field...we mainly detect on the beach with tdi pulse type detectors but i bought this V3i for my wife cause she gets fed up digging bottle caps and small iron.

These settings will work in any Spectry V3 program, of course, you will use the Multifrequency Beach Program on reptiles ... As for Iron Elimination. To do this, you have the Botlle cap setting ... in the beach program it is set to 4 ... but you can still amplify it. To verify the target signal ... use the Analysis function ,, as well as the other 3F Pinpoint function ..

I was on Whites' forum ... still on Monday and Tuesday and everything was OK ... and I wrote a few things in the posts..Spectra V3 .. ,, so I didn't expect ... that the forum will not be in a few days work...


it's one of the things that should continue to be true even if Whites no longer produces detectors ... but there are vendors who resell * Whites detectors ... and such a forum is needed for initial users ..

i wonder if parts for the whites V3i will always be availiable...cause if the lcd screen failed or the key pad or any of the processors which are non shelf parts...then if there is no parts availiable in the future then our detectors will be junk.

This happens anyway, even if the company is still in business. I have a Garrett GTAx1000 where the keypad failed, and the part was no longer available. I had to do some complex "bodging" to replace it with tactile switches.

surely when whites uk go's down then who is going to fix a complex machine like a V3i or who is going to supply parts like a keypad which will fail at some time...this is the problem with modern keypad based detectors as the parts will not always be availiable...at lest detectors that use potentiometers and no microprocessors will always be able to be fixed in the future...it seems with all the modern technology once it fails several years down the line then you bin it and buy another detector.

broken machines will be listed for sale for pennies. enthusiasts can make 1 from 2.. but thats the regular story with older machines as well as companies phase out support

i tried the V3i out on the wet sand yesterday and found it very unstable in the junkie area's and many times i get a one way bleep from the machine and then signal is gone...also rachet pinpointing has a very gritty audio so had to change to vco...any advice pls.

If they were only broken and not additionally totally "repaired" and "user refurbished" till disaster.

Here can help personal pick, (if possible) in contrast to uncontrolled distant online shop.

Try first to get rid of possible condensation of moisture inside the device by drying circuits (couple hours) on mild
heating and neutralizing possible oxide and dirt on internal contacts with a dedicated spray for electronic contacts
(like IC sockets and cable connectors).
