After two years of promises the new 16 bit DSP PIC's are finaly here, they have a real signal processing instruction set. The development kits are shipping as of April first (no joke). They apear to have plenty of support.

Yes they look interesting.
Have been wading through the specs while waiting for some parts to be shipped to Aus.
Like quite a few people in this forum I am interested in DSP applications to MDs.
