  • White's 6000/Di Pro Sl - repair

Last week I got a 6000 di pro sl to repair, the problem was in the powersupply. Had to change some capacitors and the polarity protection diode, now it works.
The one thing that I was not expecting is the current drain of the unit, it works as just before but it consumes 2.26A from the battery pack. Is this because of the voltage booster, it's normal for this detector?

    Hello nandor
    this current is too much
no one says the final result without seeing it
    my advice.Remove card from box
and energize, but the Hood will be attached
check with your hand so that the current will definitely heat up a piece

It consumes a maximum of 70mA current.

I don't think that 70mA is valid. It has 32 IC's plus the Tx circuit with the 0.7mm coil and the voltage booster.

I have finally found the problem it was another bad electric capacitor, the C79 220uF right after the diode. It was hot and also the diode but luckily no damage to IC's. Now it consumes just a little over 200mA depending on the treshold and the volume level. If the coil is not connected it consumes 148mA. Thats a huge difference, that alu coil is a hungry beast .
It seems that the pcb is covered with some kind of varnish on the silk screen also, it's hard to remove faulty components. In totall 5 capacitors and 1 diode was changed.

            problem solved
            I'm glad 200ma Nirmal is a current
