  • Metal detector for land use

    Which metal detector would you suggest me to build as a beginner (I dont own an oscilloscope) ? I want to build one for land use. Please provide me the build details , gerber and bom for that.

    Questions:
    1. Are you planning to use a commercial coil for the detector or build your own?
    2. What sort of performance are you expecting?
    3. Do you want to build your own detector because an interest in electronics and how things work, or just because you don't have the money to buy a commercial unit?

      I am planning to build my own coil. I am expecting average performance and i want to build one because i have interest in electronics as well as i dont have money to buy a commercial one. Thanks in advance for your help!

        Since you have an interest in electronics, and you're planning to build your own coil, then you should really get an oscilloscope. Otherwise it's like having one hand tied behind your back.
