A stabilized oscillator with adjustable phase extraction.
The idea is that the sine waveform provides drive signal to TX coil, whilst the phase shifted square waveform is used to switch the controls of the demodulators.
Seems P1 can adjust the phase shift. Perhaps a modified version can be used in a metal detector.
