Hi Guys,
great to be part of this forum I'm literally so close to owning a working Minelab explorer see, the only thing I need to do is fix the damn thing lol.
my uncle has given it to me and said it all mine if I can get it up and running the only problem is somebody else has had a bash first, what a nightmare not great but hey I love a challenge and am pretty savvy with fixing all sorts of electronics etc, there's also an issue as there's no battery,that's not totally necessary as I have a range of power supply I can attach to the power cables.
I've took it apart to have a look if there's anything obvious' and to be fair it looks ok apart from a small gauge black wire coming from the coil plug,is this supposed to be attached? it looks like a ground cable for the coil there's no sign of a detached cable on the boards.
any pointers would be great guys including any pictures of the inside of the boards.
So just to clarify theres no power at all the main capacitor c605 looks ok,but could change this.
Ive read that the front display has issues but not sure how to clarify that
with any luck, I will be on my way to a field near you. lol
