I have built a pin-pointer according to Gary's design: http://chemelec.com/Projects/Metal-Pin-3/Pin-3.htm
The web page does not have instructions for setting it up and I'm not sure how to do it.
Based on the schematic, I think that the trimmers should be adjusted so, that the oscillator just and just oscillates.
Then, any metal close to the ferrite core would absorb energy from the feedback loop causing the oscillation to stop and further give indication with the 555.
Did I get it right?
All hints appreciated!
