  • Compadre to Mojave

Are the two PCB's identical? It would seem so.
I have a sprint layout for compadre PCB shown in picture. I think I can figure out how to make into the Mojave.
Here's pics of Mojave and compadre PCB. The first one is Mojave.

Do you think SMD packages are too small for home construction? Who has experiences with soldering such tiny footprint. Is it feasible?

That could be built without problem, if you have some experience. If new to smd it could be frustrating but a good learning experience. The resistors and caps appear to be 1206 or 805 sized which are easy to work with. I would modify the pcb to change the smd trimpots to thru hole, cheaper and more durable.

You can get by without any special tools or equipment, just tweezers and quality flux. Search "drag soldering" on youtube this method work well for the IC's.

Tesoro used SOIC, SOT23, and 0805 components. They are pretty easy to solder if you have a good fine-tipped iron, tweezers, and magnifying goggles. Also need solder braid to fix mistakes.

          Thanks to all.
So here's my layout thus far. Almost complete, finish line in sight. I used good schematic to help with the tracing to be sure.
Ivconic has power to do this sort of thing with eyes closed. I'm exhausted.
