Sorry to not reply for all this question

    Hi ALL,
I 'm the hardware designer of the DETPIC 03.
I assembled the first prototype and work hard with Willy which was the programmer. It's thrue that we have past a lot of time to arrived to finish this prototype.( about one year)
After we had plane to do a final product that need a second design( we hadn't enougth I/O and memory in the PIC).
But during this two last year i had some health problem.
Now it seems to be good.
Willy and me think to finish this final version before the end of he year.
We can said you that you that we not use only than 2 or 3 samples of the signal but we have connected to the pic a AD converter of 1Ms/s and do some algorytme to define particularity of the signal not dependant of the distance but dependante from the material.
 We need to test togeteher this new version. If all is ok we will try to test with some beta tester that we had found . only after we put it on the forum.
As Willy said we don't give the software free as we need to reinvest in some product's developpement ( C compiler... Etc).
But don't be disapointed as the price for the chip will not be very high and it will be upgradable by software with different verion : simple, discri, special( under protected dowloader !!!!)
We think also to create a site for this detector were version could be downloadable (Payement by Paypal), with forum ....
Be quite as soon as possible we'll give you all the (PCB , PHOTO,ETC...)to build it and this for free .
Thanks again for your interest and wait a little.

      Hi PhilippeM,

That sounds good and glad to hear you're feeling better.

You mentioned that you added an ADC to your pic. I'm new to microcontrollers and looking for a good one that's easy and cheap to program. I'm wondering why you do not use the built-in ADC inside the pic. Was it too slow? Do you know of any microcontrollers capable of sampling at least 1/2 million per second that are easy and *cheap* to use?

      Thanks,
      Paul

        Hi PhilippeM and Willy
what are your parameters, you called X and Y
        X=delay time
Y=voltage(high of delay ,or it's approximate value of all Ys till end of delay.
