Why do you want to find a substitute for an HER208 diode?
This appears to be readily available from several suppliers.

The 1N4000 series is common, and the 1N4007 is rated for 1000V but only 1A.
The 1N5400 series is also fairly common, and the 1N5408 is 1000V/3A.
If you are looking for low-C these are probably not the answer. Use DigiKey's parametric listings to help find what you really need.
