  • Fisher 1260-X Disc 2 not working.

    Hi again guys.

i resonantly bought a faulty spares are repairs Fisher 1260-X hoping to swap some parts off it for another one that i have that could do with the trigger switch changing and a couple of plastic nobs changing.
the new sparse or repairs one. upon looking over it and testing it out. i found that it was just a faulty battery wire connection that was stopping it from switching on. now every thing else on the machine is working apart from one thing, which is the Disc 2 control. it is not discriminating out anything when turned up full. anyone know what the problem may be.

    many thanks in advance guys...........

my simplest way to check a pot. i took old pc speaker, must be active, with amplifier. desoldered pot from it, soldered wires in pot holes at pcb.
i solder tested pot to the wires.
connecting speaker to sound source and turning over the pot i hear a sound bad or good.

so am i right in saying that you are just kind of using an extension cable to act as a volume control tester. if the sound/volume of music turns up as you turn the pot up, that you are testing. then the pot is working ok. or lets say. if nothing are very little response. then it's bad.

NO NO NO! again you did not understand me. you HEAR either CLEAR sound on turn up/down, or WITH rustles, creaks, clicks.
then after you DO A CONCLUSION your pot good or not. if not, open the pot and clear by russian vodka.
