You should try bone conduction headphones. My wife uses them a lot. She loves them because your ears are free to listen to the surroundings. The best part is that there are also bone conduction headphones for underwater use, BT doesn't work underwater.

I've tested the Nordic nRF5340, the only chip I can find that supports LE Audio and the one used in the Manticore; it works quite well. Right now the only thing on the market supporting LE Audio are earbuds, but headphone are surely coming as the technology is adopted. AptX-LL will likely go away in a few years so it's a smart move to go ahead and jump on LE Audio.

Never used that discriminator ever again.
Yep, nuggets can have multiple eddy domains that produce a weird decay that fools a decay-based disc circuit.

To reduce the total weight of the entire device, for example.
I don't know if the CZ3D is still being produced or not, I only know it's no longer on the web site. I can assure you that there are no plans to make any changes to it. There is a completely new MF platform in development but it's dragging badly and I see no hope for a 2023 release.

I tried them, they didn't seem to work for me. And these were a brand that someone else raved about. I wonder if it's skull-dependent, maybe I have a weird skull.

I know we are going off thread here, but i purchased a set of bone conduction phones with my Deus 2. Not tried them in the wild yet, but first impressions are that they are very good. I found that i could hear tones that were imperceptible with the standard back-phones. Looks like my ears are shot, but don't tell the wife as I always tell her that I hang onto every word she says - even when I didn't hear what she said in the first place.

          Eeeiisshh!
That's because nobody listens to me here! For years I have been pointing out the right things and in which direction this technology should be further developed...

          Not suitable for seismic probing!
Whenever I hear "bone earphones"... it always reminds me of seismic probing... I guess because the working principle is similar?

Weirdest skull is definitely mine; for years I can't match it with suitable hat!
In 2014, I'm lying on the beach in Greece, looking out to sea... some black dot on the horizon, floating in the sea.
I follow... it slowly approaches, in the end I recognize that it is some strange but interesting object.
I jump, swim and reach the object... a leather hat, the same type as Indiana Jones has it!
          What a joy!
Because days before that I was looking for a similar one in stores and I couldn't find my number, they don't make hats for heads like this!
I float in the water, I try it... alas, that one doesn't fit either!
Today, it is hung on a peg in the attic, as an eternal memory.

Okay, some interesting discussions. Since I don't have the same equipment to check the frequencies transmitted, like I did when the Equinox came out, I would like someone to analyze and display the findings, please. I know for sure 1st Texas will not lay down and play dead but will test the Manticore for information, (since they are the main competition). I still have the Equinox, Fisher Pro Arc and the Whites TDI and can say each has their place and strengths that I use regularly. Can't see buying either the Equinox 900 or the Manticore.

I had to look up the Fisher Pro Arc, didn't know we made that. But, no, FTP is not the main competition for the Manticore. At this point it is XP and Nokta. If we get a Manticore and they let me borrow it then I will see what it does. Not likely until the end of 2023 at the best.

I think Fisher made a limited number of the Pro Arc's. Actually I think the label is the only thing that separates it from the F75 LTD. Still it's a nice detector. It is my stand by detector and one that is used when I have a guest wanting to try their luck detecting.

I'm not sure why you started a new thread, but anyhow, the new thread needs tying up to this one.

My only hunting buddy bought the Manticore several weeks ago and so far he has found only two improvements over the CTX, EMI and lighter weight.
He can hunt some locations I can't and his is well behaved. Of course, he has many more offset frequencies for the detector to choose from too. We have done many side by side comparisons between the Manticore, Equinox and the Tarsacci. He has yet to dig a good target that can't be detected with either of these.
