  • VCO or not VCO ??

    Hi all,
I'm trying to find an answer on my question:
does it better to use VCO or not VCO for using detector like PI hammerhead?
As i 'm doing assembly of the CMS Hammerhead,i need to choose before make it: after it's will be difficult to change option!
I'll be happy to have other sound for you about the VCO or not VCO option.
I don't like that a detector sounds always with high level sound with no target so i think that no VCO will be better as it's only the level of the sound that is change liken to a VCO which have alway a high sound with the frequency change depends of présence of target.
    Thanks for your answer.

Re: VCO or not VCO ??

It's a matter of personal preference. I like VCO audio. Some people hate it.

Most designs use inverting. I removed this option from the latest PCBs.

          You can use both!

I think, for human hearing (nicety), Vco is beter option.
But You are right about tiresome constant level of treshold.

In My detectors, I use combination of both.

          Salute,
          Jackdetect.

            HI all,
Thanks for your reply: i'll try to assembly the VCO option . It will allow the security to heard if the detector is well tune as the sound is alway play.

thanks much Carl. what I would like see redrawing

                hi,
I would like to order a PCB here, but I got a reply that GERBERs are not fitting.
so I would like to enlarge dimensions of text, some lines and holes but I do not know how do it because did not work with GERBER files (mainly in ORCAD 7-9).

                yours sincerely
