  • Using Microwaves and DSP's

Has anyone here ever experimented with using a microwave transmitter (GHZ range) and a DSP to get a high res. picture of what lies beneath (like the military uses for mine detection) or has anyone ever used (does anyone make) a MD that uses a matrix of small coils instead of just one big one. Just a couple of thoughts I want to turn into projects, but wondered if anyone has worked with this before. If anyone with RF experience would like to join the project ffort, shoot me an email.

What you're describing is ground penetrating radar. I believe that most GPR use impulse or ultra-wideband techniques. Do a web search on "ultra-wideband gpr" for more info.
