    Re: C-scope Cs2-5mx

my congratulations to you! i usually write the lines at translucent paper. i put it on PCB and then puncture it by finger on every details' pins and legs. it gives some start points for a sketching. this way is more productive in our work. i draw lines at both sides of the paper.
so you can see full PCB image through a light.

    all the best
    Anatolij

      Re: Pcb Reverse engineering

      Hi Yves and Anatolij,
It is a older method, which I use to long time a go. He will lose time if write on paper first, because probably needing Pcb design in program.
      My method:
I can recommend Protel, he is probably the best for Pcb.
First step is to allocate all components, like on original board. Then, you start to write Top layers. Best way is to use Beeper on DVM or ohmmeter is good too, to “see” below IC.
After that, you can FLIP Pcb design, and original board, and write Bottom layers (topsy). When you finished Bottom layers, need to FLIP again.
Next step is to print COMPOSITE (multilayer) on paper (fit board on page), and start trace for mistakes, or writing components values, if you need.
Almost all schematics content mistakes. You have live unit, and use it to get useful Pcb.
      It is nearest way.
      Best regards,
      Jackdetect.

            Re: C-scope Cs2-5mx

Anatolij, sorry this is off the topic, but are you the same guy who host the web site http://kt315.hotbox.ru/index.html and has a bunch of posts here http://metaldetector.bratsk-city.ru/forum/ ?

You look like very knowledgeable person and I need your advice. I am relatively new to this hobby and I recently purchased Discovery 2200 from Radio Shack http://www.radioshack.ca/estore/Product.aspx?language=en-CA&catalog=RadioShack&category=Metal+Detectors&pro duct=6303017 (manufactured by Bounty Hunter). I took it for a test on different locations including beaches (I live in Vancouver). I found the device is relatively good for dry sand, but on a wet sand and in the water it really sucks. I also showed the device to some folks from the local treasure hunting club and they generally where positive about it's sensitivity. But I want more I am at the point when I want to build my own MD. I looked at the Internet and found several projects that appear to be good, including Hammerhead, Delta Pulse, Treasure Hunter and several others. So, in the end which project would you recommend? I have the skills to build my own board, however I don't mind buying a ready to use board, or even kit (what do you think about Phazitron?). So can you please help me, before my head explodes from the information overload?

You are free to write me in Russian. I fluently read (and speak) it, but it is a pain in the neck to write, and I hate translit.

            Thanks,
            Nick

p.s. my nick name in the http://metaldetector.bratsk-city.ru forum is nikivan
