Hi Jackdetect. I use Protel 99 SE and i have a problem with the pcb design. I can't design one side pcb. The options are for 2, 4 and 8 sides. Do you know anything for this?
Thanks Geo
Hi Geo,
You must give to me more information about you problem. If you designed only Pcb, I can not see any problem. I usually make my detectors only with bottom layers, and top layers using to write jumpers. One side Pcb is easier to me, because of thermo foil proceeding (for experiments). But, you can use only bottom.
But, If you try to using Auto Route, it is a real science. I was trying to use Auto Route with bottom layer only, but Protel not allowed it. His probably designed to work with two layers minimal. But you can disable top layer after finished auto route, and write bottom layers whose missing.
But, my opinion is that PC newer can replace human brain in Pcb design. Fisher boards are the best example of auto route work – real mess.
I hope to help little. If I not, you must tell me more about problem.
Best regards,
Jackdetect.
Hi Jackdetect.
I always use the Auto Route. It is a good work but it is problem when i design a simple pcb who i don't like to destroy a dual side board.
Do you know any other good software with autoroute in one layer?
Thanks Geo
