  • Working H-bridge -- scope pics, plus something interesting

I'm posting this as a new thread, so I can do the multi-image thang...

I was taking oscope pics, using differential mode, and noticed something interesting. Best to explain it with the pics:

    Here is the

    Here is the

Differentially, they create a train of positive pulses, with every other one preceded by a reverse pulse. Nicely, the glitching seems to cancel out.

Zoomed in on a differential pos/neg pulse, to show that the decay level is reasonably stable. So far so good...

Let's go back to single-ended, and look at a single positive pulse.

We can zoom in on it, and see that single-endedly, settling looks OK. Ignore the underdamped response, I don't have the damping resistor set right.

Now let's remove the bleed resistors, R1 & R2. This is what I meant before, when I said the decay level moved all over the place.

Now here we are, same pulse, resistors back in the circuit, looking at the pulse differentially.

Still differential, but with the bleed resistors removed again. Hmmm, setting looks good, and that glitching crap is mostly gone.

10 pics is all I get to post, so here's the close-in settling. This looks exactly the same, whether the bleed resistors are in the circuit or not. For this pic, I also adjusted the damping resistor.
