I wonder what is really the silencer function used in Fisher and XP detectors. It has to limit a false signals caused by iron. Is it a something around comparator cirquit?

    Re: Silencer

Fisher1235-1266=Tesoro=Whites Cl=Bounty= etc. =comparators' discrimination. it is NOT so bad, I mean... but the way drops down the sencitivity.

            Re: need probes and info

            Hi Gene,

If you are looking for a cheap scope probe, you might look at the scope probes advertized on the Hosfelt website. Once at the website, do a search for probe.

They list two scope probes. The PP-80 is the 60Mhz version and the PP=150 is a 100Mhz model. I bought one of their 60Mhz probes for about $12.95 USD plus shipping and it works fine.

All Electronics also has a 60Mhz scope probe, but it sells for a little less than $20USD.

                A little late, but...

Try Abra Electronics as well. I bought the 50MHz probes for $18, was quite pleased with them. They have both 1x & 10x settings, and a soft pouch.
