Best Metal Detector Design for UW Use

G'Day all,

I'm looking at building a metal detector, and I thought I'd ask you pro's what would be the best design. It will primarily be used underwater, but I'd also like to be able to use it on land as well (I realise it's probably not possible to be good at both, so an emphasis on being a better underwater detector). As far as making the housing and everything goes, I should be pretty fine with that, all I was wondering was the design type?

Hi,
I suggest you a pulse induction one... you can use on soil, fresh water or salt water too.

So really versatile !

Problem is you don't have disc. So keep that in mind before build one.

There are a lot of schematics here: choose one simple like some white's surfmaster PI... or similar stuff for beach hunting.

You can also try hammerhead or deltapulse too... but delta is a bit complex if you haven't any experience with MD construction/use.
