  • attenuator for cz6a shallow targets

On my cz i run the volume at about 4 or 5 so that i can tell the difference from the deeper targets.
i was thinking of building something that would silence the loud shallow stuff thats above 4;5 or whatever I set the volume for.
im an electronics tech so most projects are no problem for me to build.

    Any ideas would be great
    thanks in advance

Re: attenuator for cz6a shallow targets

It is a common problem of all VLf devices, because of balanced coils. They haven’t clear information about target deep. Small shallow metal will give similar signal, like big deeper target.
But, you can recognize deep, if you listening the signal when you move coil around target (autotune). Shallow target will give shorter signal then deeper.
Pi detectors with big mono coil are giving much better information about deep of target, because of two signals from shallow targets.

    Jackdetect.
