  • PIC software & dev boards

Someone over on EPE's chat forum mentioned this site. Looks like some really good stuff, and decent prices, esp. considering the sorry state of the US dollar.

They've just released a C-compiler, with a free version limited to 2K. But what I was most impressed with, is the EasyPIC2 dev board. Cheap. Plus lots of optional plug-ins. Even a Compact Flash card module, for $18.

Also have dev boards for dsPIC, AVR, and PSoC. Heck, I never even heard of PSoC.

Try http://www.picbasic.org I bought the Proton DEV kit and IT ROCKS. it's got ATAN, ACOS, ASIN and EVERYTHING you could need for designing PIC based beepers. In fact I had so much fun with it, I now go looking for projects to put PIC's in..Sad or what? Fun though....;-)

      Newbie Questions

      Hello Guys,

I wanted to ask what these products are used for? Are you designing metal tectors with them? And must one understand programing language to use them?

I have electronic knowledge, but haven't studied the different programing languages as of yet.
