  • SAT and no-motion on a PI detector.

    Hi,
If I disconnected the SAT control on a PI detector (say, my Goldquest SS) would it then be a no-motion detector? Would it work and what would be the disadvantages?
    thanks,

Re: SAT and no-motion on a PI detector.

Most of the time, SAT provides the stability for the threshold. So if you disconnect it, the threshold will slowly drift until it makes the detector unusable. How long this takes depends on the opamps used, and could be anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes.
