  • Uniprobe problem, any help or suggestion

as to how to solve same would be appreciated. Any schematic available for this monstrosity?

When turned on, audio usually goes woooop, woooop, woooop for up to 1 minute and then gets the threshold sound. Other times, it will not work at all. Other times, it works just fine.

Any ideas? I do note that when the probe is removed it gets the same repeated woooop audio. Nothing wrong with probe or cable. No apparent broken wires or loose connections inside.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Ty

Sound like a Cold Solder Joint somewhere.

I would recommend you use some Cold Spray on the board and try to find it that way.

      Uniprobe.

Have you contacted Detectorpro? If it is still under warranty, it would be best not to try DIY fixes. I'm sure you will find them helpful in correcting the problem.

          Uniprobe up and running...

Problem was a partial broken wire in crossover voltage feed cable at the electronics ear cup. Flex it just so, voltage droped from 9v to about 4v.
Both the freq and threshold controls were loose. Jiblets of wire from, I suppose, the construction of device were still inside the electronics earcup.
Seems a shame to use what appears to me to be very cheap hook up wire while the board appears to be a first class piece of workmanship.
No use contacting DP, their standard answer, with broken cross over cable, is the phones were folded wrong. Eric, with 47 years electronics experience and counting, ain't much of a DIY problem.
          Thanks for all the suggestions.
