  • Which one to buy?

I am very new to this part of prospecting but have been learning a ton from the helpful members here. I would like to get my wife involved so I was wondering if you guys could give me a few pointers on which type/brand metal detector I should get her. I was thinking about building the bandito, but time contraints are bad right now(unless you think its worth it, I have a coil for that unit already). I am thinking a good all around coin detecting/gold jewelry unit would be nice. Is the Minelab Sovergin a good choice? Thanks again for the info! Look forward to your thoughts

With smaller females, you need to consider weight & balance as well as performance. My opinion of the Sov is, good detector, lousy ergonomics. Very heavy, and hard on the arm.

I might lean toward the MXT, or a Tesoro such as the Golden.

I think I will go with the tesoro Golden. I was hoping you would say the soverign so I could steal it! What ever detector I do end up purchasing I am deff going to write up a schematic for it.
      Thanks for the Tips Carl!

I bought a Golden and my wife stole it from me. Now when I want to use it, I have to pry it out of her fingers

Great little detector. Add a 7" or 8.5" widescan coil to it and watch out!!!!!!

                  LRL's????

Complete waste of time and effort. try using a couple of bent copper rods. Same thing nad MUCH CHEAPER!

"Dowsing rules, LRL's suck for thier notoriety of NOT".
