                    XR-71

My uncle was involved in the Blackbird project from its inception and while he was one of the senior pilots in the project was considered too old to fly it. It was built by Kelly Johnson of Northrop, and only about 34 were built.
Estimates of speed are around Mach-5, but is still classified. Has recently been brought back into service.
