ОК. guys in forum write that they got some heating of the transistors. it is because RX coil was off the voltage resonance, or yet untuned. if RX coil has good tuned the transistors would be cool.

TR locator
Hi KT315 and Geo.
Plaseeee, let me know if i´m correct with just placing on the board has it, the CD4069 (U2)
I don´t whant to make any mistakes on the circuit.
Regards
Nelson

Tomorrow i´ll get CD4069 and place it on the board.
Also, i´ll look for TIP32A. Now for testing purposes i´ll put TIP34 that have a bigger case, but i´ll run it away from the pcb board.
On my next message i´ll send a picture of my work.

TR locator
Hi Geo.
My question: If i don´t make this , can i replace 4049 by 4069 and just place it on the board has is marked or should i have to do the same thing that you explain to me if i ll use 4049?
There is not problem, just little work more. Take a small pcb, put 7+7 pins, put the 4049 and connect the pins of 4049 at the pins of pcb so to match with the pcb of T/R locator
Thanks and regards

hi Nelson. I again revised the schematic and here what you asked me.

Hi KT315 and thanks for full information uploaded to the forum.
After i write this lines i´ll try to run the detector with 4069 (U2) on it. This will be a short test, because i have to finish my coil support. This will be only to see if the machine stars.
Later i wiil post results.
Thanks again and best regards from Chile.

Hi KT315, today i try to run the detector, but after i turn the power on i noticed no sound. After taking a look to the board i found a very big error done by me. On the place of C7 (220uF electrolitic capacitor), by accident i placed a 100 ohms resistor. Of course this short circuit could have done some elements damage on the board.
Now i which to know wich elements could be damage. I think that Q1, Q2 and may be Q3 are burn.
I measured U4 (LM7812). Input voltage is 12 volts and output voltage is 8 volts, not 6 volts.
Taking a look to Sprint layout file i checked all tracks that comes from negative pole of C7, and this show me that may be other components like U1 and U6 (LM324), U5 (14520), Q6 and Q7 (TIP32A), may be are damaged too.
So i need your opinion to get the problem solve. By know i remove resistor from C7 position and i placed the correct capacitor (220uF).
Regards.

What a joke!?
What a joke this TR locator???!!! Ha,ha,ha....
KT315 is fooling arround again?
C'mon people, are you want to make serious 2 box or wanna waste time with bulls like this funny toy?
What's wrong with TM808, it is real 2 box!
This TR is just toy for kids. Non working bull sheet!
KT315 again you playing smart here?

Hi Geo.
Reading and reading posts, sometimes you get confused, speccially when some people try to made some bad reputation from others.
But i think that all friends who are here from all places around the world, stay here for the same thing in commond....learn and learn about this nice hobbie.
You know i m working on TR locator and i have recibed help from all you good people from the forum.
So for that i need to know about your expirence with TR locator. You said before that we must tune it with the coils vertically, but i don´t understand if this should stay verically after tune or must place one coil vertically and the other horizontal.
Also can you help me with a mistake posted before this message.
Regards
Nelson

I have build 3 two box detectors. They are easy in use and very sensitive at large objects. The only critical are the coils adjust who must be vertical between them.

If you finished the detector you must tune the coils first. So put the coils parallel with them and change the C3 until you have the max audio output. To change the c3 try to put parallel with it other capacitors (10nf..47nf). If when connect the first capacitor parallel to c3, the audio signal go down then put a smaller c3 and try again. When you are ok you must receive the signal from tx at least at5...6m. After it place the coils vertical with them (ok.one vertical to the ground and the other horizontal to the ground) and try to make a null (with low sensitivity). Make the null far from metallic objects. Now the other is "Good Findings".

Hi Geo and thank´s for your help.
Also i have send this message to KT315

But not answer yet to this stupid mistake made by me. I need to identify wich components are burn or damage. Can you or anyone more skilly than me help me.

Hi Chris and thanks for your information. What about if i just eliminate the regulator and use direct 6 volts.

I measured U4 (LM7812). Input voltage is 12 volts and output voltage is 8 volts, not 6 volts.
Nelson, 7812 gives 12 volts. very simple rule - 2 last numbers are output voltage. 7805 - +5 V. 7806 - +6 V. 7809 - +9 V. but 7908 - -8 V. 7912 - -12V. 7915 - -15 V. etc.
Chris is right, you must use input voltage with some reserve, so Uin>12+2=14=Uin min.
no problem, you can eliminate the regulator and to use 6-12 V of input voltage.

Can anyone tell me if is possible to test the sound of TR locator without the coils placed. i mean on the table is there any way to test it before i go to the field.
regards
