    2-2/16 Inches is 2.3125 inches.
Not Sure What exactially that Drawing is fo, But probably just a 2 Inch or 2.25 or even a 2.5 Inch bolt would be OK.

Did you mean that you never used that capacitor in your circuit ?

Please check this circuit if everything correct after I removed that capacitor :
I do not know if that BC183 is a good Substitute or not.
      Try it If you want.

YES I Did use the Capacitor, I Just did Not put it directly on the PCB.

        • Gary can I use ABS plastic as I saw in your website to make the box for two box metal detector.

              • I saw your file mehdi but is the ca3035 equivalent circuit for receiving 180 khz or 2 khz
because in your file it used with 2 khz transmitter circuit.
Does the loop determine what frequency is received?

And does the transmitter circuit made by Charles D. Rakes work fine, because I saw in some posts, it may has some problems.
Did any one make this circuit by Charles D. Rakes

                • very interesting

                  Hi all!

The picture(!) in the #267 is very interesting.
It is good for idea (for example, it is an extended block scheme), or testing people talents in the school, but include serious errors.
For example, from this picture missing
                  - bandfilters,
                  - capacitors between op-amps,
                  - RF-end circuit is wrong,
                  - coils data, etc.

For the correct active filter design, see Texas homepage (FilterPro is free.).

                  Good hunting

This Somewhat Duplicates the CA3035 IC, plus the additional parts in the reciever.

The first 3 transistors is stage 1.
The next four are stage 3
The Last 3 are Stage 3
Each stage has a gain greater than 40 DB and a bandwidth of about 250 kHz.

I have now re-desined the board and hopefully fixed the problems.

                      Hi Garry
Its me Dave from uk, a member of your site
I dont want to sound stupid but when checking these box type detectors it no good doing them in a typical engineers workshop, you need minium of 8-10meters free airspace, no metals of any type nothing at all electrical because otherwise you may be looking for faults that dont exsist, I only speek from experience because I got caught out years ago building one of these 2 box types, and beleave you me they love 50/60hz they also love uhf tvs.
The only way I got arround it was I had a very large carport at the otherside of my workshop.
Trust me on this one I cant overstate how these buggers react to everyday household/workshop situations, fluretant lighting is another, which most of us have in are workshops.
Anyway nice to see you here
                      All the best Dave

                        • Finshed final

                          Hi all
Is there anyone here actually made this 2 box assembly from start to finish and if so can you give me the lowdown on it please, because I got the itch to have ago at building this monster, then takeing it down the local pub and see if I can find the lost well in there garden, at the very least ill some laughs .
if its complete with working circuit, component placement, and print side layout like Ivconic so kindly did with his TGSL project I and sure many more like minded people on here would be so greatful if one of you could create a final finshed folder.
If not and theres problems with it, spell the problems out and maybe I with my limited knowledge could shed light on the matter.
                          Warm regards as always
                          Dave

Let me know if the above information is correct, especially the pcb?
                              In advance many thanks
