Vehicle sensor - how many vehicles abreast and at what rate and speed

Hi!
Can you provide the details of the actual use.
How many vehicles, what speed, how many in a row, what width of road, what kind of road.
At times, using MD methods may ot be good enough. You may need to use microwave (Radar) or even sound (ultra sonic) or a combination.

Hi! What I would to make is a simple md type sensor to detect an occasional vehical on a dirt road.I have made many types of sensors,and they all work well,but I just wanted to try this type. Thank you.

You could probably get away with a simple metal detector circuit. In this case though instead of waving the detector coil over the object, the object passes over the coil and is detected. Of course everything would have to be weather proofed.
