This was my first coin hunting detector, if I had a wish it would be for someone to rebuild this gem of a detector for me, the loose connectors, the dirty potentiometers worn from twisting round and round determining the target. But Ive had it for years and works well after all this time, with patience, that is.Its 30 this year and I sure would like to find another like it.I paid a hundred for it new at Sears, and I will payup to a hundred for one like it in working condition.Just for the fun of having one for my youngest. Thanks an Happy Trails... Dan

TLC
Hi Dan,
I live in the Black Hills and have messed with electronics all my life. I've worked on a few detectors and can clean or replace a control or jack pretty easily. I enjoy the older machines and a peek inside any detector.
If you're looking for somebody to administer a little TLC for parts cost plus a little for my time, reply here.

What a break!
Thanks for the reply there, I would be happy to get this relic back to weight, it made a small fortune for me in the upper midwest in the 70s,just in silver coin and many gold rings and many more silver rings, its the best little lightweight unit I have ever operated .Ive tried a few you know, take my word for it, I am going out to the cabin on tues or wed and I will bring it in town. Where can I bring for repair? TD

I'm there for ya, or somewhere nearby anyway!
Hi Dan,
Cool! Glad to help get that old coin beastie working again. Usually it's just controls with crud in them. Next is worn-out pins and sockets on connectors and thin wires that break from use, especially on battery clips, loose controls, plugs or near the cable ends. A blast of cleaner/lube followed by working the connector or control can work wonders, but after 20-30 years, it's also maybe time for a new part here or there and a resoldering of suspect connections.
I'll shoot you an email and we can get together!
