White's EagleII Prof. MPC don't work!!!

Hello,
my name is Chris and i have a metal detector:White's EagleII Prof. MPC,this with the metellic blue box,model 1987.
Well,i have problem with this because when i start it after some seconds it stop to work,haven't any noise and shows only some broken/half digits in the screen(the detector is frozen).
Maybe somebody can help in this problem???

Hi,,Hey Check Your Battery Connections If They Check Out Good Then Try Tapping The Detector Box With Your Hand Fairly Hard While The Gizmo Is On Then Report Back Here With The Results!! Thanks
