  • The Pulse Devil - The Inside Scoop (version 2.0)

Since my original Pulse Devil thread degraded into 5% Pulse Devil 95% interpersonal BS I have started a new one. Lets all try to stay on topic which is Pulse Devil features, controls, setup, field test results, questions and answers.

Please take the FCC rules, real men don't use discrimination, and similar debates to another thread.

When the Pulse Devil arrives I will be reporting field test results here. I'm also going to reach out to Dave Emery to see what juicy tidbits are okay for me to discuss versus what he'd like me to keep under my hat. Stay tuned!

Let me know if this is on topic. I have nothing against anyone's invention and my hats off to anyone who can invent a metal detect that accurately discriminates against iron utilizing frequencies less than 100MHz. As previously stated, the word "accurate" is a relative statement. I think the following quoted test request is relevant:

Remember, to be accurate, you need to did [dig] around to make sure there is no gold. Sure, you might dig down and find a piece of iron. Remove that iron from the site and then scan again to see if there's something else. That is a good and unbiased test.
The above test would be helpful, but what about big gold? My concerns were that big gold near sufficient magnetic material could appear as iron. It's great if such a machine could discriminate against iron, but how often does a person come across a potato size nugget? I'd like to know how well this machine handles the big ones near magnetic materials. Understandably very few people have a $100,000 nugget laying around for such a test so I'd settle for a fist size hunk of lead. Flatten the lead and place it on various size pieces of magnetite, then maghemite, then hematite.

    Thanks,
    Paul

Well that didn't take long, yes Paul this is off topic. Plus you already posted this in the other thread so why are you duplicating it again here? Why not just start your own thread on these topics if you wish to debate them? They are not specific to the Pulse Devil.

No matter, I give up. I'll post Pulse Devil info over on my website forums where I can keep the thread clean of debris.

          Hi Charles

I have always enjoyed your posts regarding your Explorer useage.

I remember Dave posted that he would have several models. I was curious as to what the difference would be between the prospecting version versus the coin/relic version. Would the pulse delay be lower for the prospecting version?

          Thanks
          George

              Ignore List

As a reminder, or in case you do not know this ->

Go to User CP (i.e. the User Control Panel) and under Miscellaneous you will see a heading named Buddy/Ignore List. You can then enter the name of any annoying persons to the ignore list. After that you will see something similar to this->

This message is hidden because pml is on your ignore list.

              Works a treat!
